Denia Information on the Costa Blanca in Spain

Denia Information

Denia has almost 20 kilometres of coastline. North of Denia there are beaches of fine sand and shallow waters like, Les Marines, L'Almadrava, Les Deveses, Les Bovetes and els Palmars. To the south of Denia the coast becomes more rocky, with small coves, such as Les Rotes, which is a favorite of fishermen and divers. The major landmark of the area is the Montgó Mountain, which is shared by Denia and Javea.

Denia sits at the foot of a hill that is overlooked by a castle that contains the remains of all the people that have settled here throughout history. From the castle's hilltop esplanade there is an excellent view of Denia and its surroundings. Among the many monuments in Denia, we recommend that you visit the 18th-century church of the Asunción;, the 17th century Atarazanas dockyards, the church of San Antonio and the 18th century neoclassical town hall building. Outside the town aret the hermitages of the conquest of Sant Joan, Santa Paula and Santa Lucía, which were constructed during the 14th and 15th centuries, also of interest is the 17th century Torre del Gerro, located in the cliff next to the cape of San Antonio.
